"Birthdays"
I was just curious how you celebrate dc children's birthdays. Do you give a present, and if so, what?

Also, does anyone have a cute poem or idea for a parent's birthday?

Thanks!

I always have parties for dc children and give present. Mostly an outfit or something like that. It depends on if the child has been in care long enough to. I mean just getting in care on Monday and birthday on Friday I may just have some cookies nothing really big.

My provider does give presents on birthdays, something small. My daughter turned 2 in Nov. & she gave her a My Pretty Pony & card. Parents provide treats for their child's "party"

So far I have given a gift to my dc kids on their birthday, I always give a book. That is just my thing. I serve a special snack for the birthday buddy and we sing Happy Birthday. For the older kids I have had a mini party with a candle, noise makers and a birthday related craft. I have several "birthday" themed books that I choose from to read. Among my favorites are: Mercer Mayer- Bun Bun's Birthday, John F. Green- Alice and the Birthday Giant, and the best of all... Frank Asch- Happy Birthday Moon. When my child and I were invited to a child's birthday party outside of care, I gave a small gift under ten dollars. As a side note, I just found out that I can deduct,up to a certain $ amount, off my taxes for the gifts given to my dc kids. =) T.
