LAST EDITED ON Mar-30-05 AT 10:28 PM (EST)So far I have given a gift to my dc kids on their birthday, I always give a book. That is just my thing. I serve a special snack for the birthday buddy and we sing Happy Birthday. For the older kids I have had a mini party with a candle, noise makers and a birthday related craft. I have several "birthday" themed books that I choose from to read. Among my favorites are: Mercer Mayer- Bun Bun's Birthday, John F. Green- Alice and the Birthday Giant, and the best of all... Frank Asch- Happy Birthday Moon. When my child and I were invited to a child's birthday party outside of care, I gave a small gift under ten dollars. As a side note, I just found out that I can deduct,up to a certain $ amount, off my taxes for the gifts given to my dc kids. =) T.
